About this opportunity

 

Yarra Trams requires the services of an experienced and suitably qualified Lineworker to ensure maintenance tasks associated with the overhead network are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with the business objectives of Yarra Trams

 

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Lineworker to ensure the tram overhead system has the highest quality maintenance service in order to efficiently deliver customer and community expectations of safety, reliability and compliance with the Franchise Agreement.

Reporting to the Overhead Supervisor, the role involves: 

 

  • Participate in ensuring overhead maintenance and renewal tasks are completed in a timely manner;
  • Providing reports on overhead maintenance and ensuring documentation is clear and accurate; 
  • Ensuring tram traction overhead network is maintained in a timely, efficient & cost effective manner;
  • Participating in fault investigation and analysis with overhead staff;
  • Participate in ensuring maintenance programs minimise disruption to tram operations;
  • Ensuring all aspects of employee and public safety is maintained and all safety regulations are complied with;
  • Monitoring on site electrical permits and ensuring the safety of people working near electrical assets;
  • Availability and willingness to work shift work, including weekends and Public Holidays, including reasonable overtime for planned works or emergencies.

 

About you

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Certificate III in ESI – Rail Traction or Distribution; 
  • A strong background in the maintenance and construction of overhead electrical assets; 
  • Demonstrable experience in traction or distribution overhead maintenance and construction;
  • Knowledge of Road Safety (Traffic) Regulations and road and traffic design standards particularly relating to tram operations;
  • A sound understanding of relevant Operational Rules and Procedures, Personnel Policies and Practices, Awards, Transport Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Environmental Act and other relevant legislation;
  • A current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
